Clouds Casting 1000-Mile Shadows Into Space When Viewed Aboard The ISS
One of six astronauts presently on board the International space platform, geologist Alexander Gerst spends a lot of of his free time staring out the window because the world zooms by 205 miles below, camera in-hand. Since incoming at the ISS in June of this year Gerst has taken loads of images that document hurricanes, floods, mud storms, and oil fields.
One of his favorite things to shoot ar the shadows solid by clouds, one thing that seems amazingly dramatic from house. Dense cloud formations will produce long shadows that stretch for thousands of miles across the Earth’s surface as they eventually disappear into a black horizon. you'll see new photos from Gerst daily on Twitter.
